How Much Release Paper Do I Need?

Note: due to the thickness of Bee's Crafty Corner release paper, many people like to cover only 1 or 2 rows at a time and reposition as you work on your painting. If you follow this strategy, you will require less release paper.

Each pack of release paper covers the following surface area:

Print Orientation

When purchasing release paper, certain sizes require you to choose your desired print orientation - portrait or landscape

  • Portrait

Portrait orientation means the pattern will be facing the correct way when the release paper sheet is positioned vertically with the shorter edge on top

  • Landscape

Landscape orientation means the pattern will be facing the correct way when the release paper sheet is positioned horizontally with the longer edge on top

  • Thick Paper (Glossy or Matte)

The thick paper has a weight of 140gsm. It is comparable to photo paper or a thin card stock.

    This paper is best if:

    • You dislike when release paper curls
    • You dislike seeing the diamond painting through the release paper
  • Thin Paper (Glossy/Matte/Holographic)

The thin paper has a weight of 110gsm. It is more flexible and easier to roll. It is still thicker than traditional release paper which is about 80gsm.

    This paper is best if:

    • You prefer your release paper to be more flexible/bendy
    • You need to roll your painting

DISCLAIMER: due to the thickness of my release paper, I do not recommend rolling it. However, the thin paper is better for rolling than the thick.
